This quarter, we’re thrilled to recognize Jeff Huber as our Q3 BRING IT Gamechanger for his unwavering dedication, problem-solving spirit, and commitment to delivering outstanding service—no matter the circumstances.
Going the Extra Mile—Literally
When a customer’s brake line failed late on a Friday afternoon, Jeff could have easily called it a day. He was already on his way to his son’s sporting event in Iowa City. But instead of leaving the customer stranded, Jeff took action. After a quick fix attempt didn’t hold, he drove all the way to Iowa City, tracked down the only available replacement part, and returned that evening to install it himself. Thanks to Jeff’s determination and generosity with his time, the customer was back on the road the same night.
Leading by Example
Jeff has been part of the Bazooka Farmstar team for six years, currently serving as a Design Engineer with a recent focus on our Blockbuster line. His journey to Bazooka began after working in software sales, when a conversation with Bazooka about design opportunities sparked a new career path. What’s kept him here, Jeff says, are the “different opportunities and the ability to wear multiple hats.”
That willingness to jump in wherever he’s needed is a big part of what makes Jeff stand out. When Bazooka Farmstar acquired Blockbuster last year—before there were resources for a dedicated sales position—Jeff stepped up to fill the gap, taking on responsibilities as both Sales and Business Unit Manager. He fielded customer calls during evenings, weekends, and even on his days off, helping grow the business to the point where a full-time sales representative could be hired.
When asked what drives him to go above and beyond, Jeff says it comes down to taking care of people:
“I just wanted to help the customer out. Without customers, we wouldn’t have the business. However we can make their lives better and easier, that’s what matters. He would’ve been stuck otherwise, so I wanted to help. And with Blockbuster, I was willing to give it a shot and try to jump start the business unit—it’s a great opportunity for us.”
For Jeff, BRING IT isn’t a slogan—it’s a mindset. His advice to others who want to follow in his footsteps is simple but powerful:
“Go above and beyond what’s asked or expected of you—at work, home, or in public. Put yourself in someone else’s shoes and think about what you’d want if you were in their situation.”
Giving Back
As part of his recognition, Jeff selected Hawkeye Cans for Cancer as his nonprofit $100 donation of choice. He learned about their mission while participating in the local Mary Bump Memorial Softball Tournament and was inspired by their work supporting local cancer patients and their families.
Hawkeye Cans for Cancer helps cover expenses not paid by insurance—like parking, gas, and meals—while patients travel to and from treatments. Their mission hits home for Jeff, who values community involvement and helping others through challenges.

Outside of Work
When Jeff isn’t designing equipment or helping customers, you can usually find him on the go—running, eating, sleeping, or cheering from the sidelines at his sons’ sporting events.
