According to his nominators, John excelled at every stage. “He asked questions where needed but wasn’t afraid to do what needed to be completed,” they shared. “If something didn’t go well, he rolled with the punches and helped make necessary changes.”

The voting committee added another dimension to John’s recognition, noting how his positive attitude brightens even the toughest days for his colleagues. “If someone is having a bad day, he can help brighten it as he approaches everything with positivity,” they observed. The award announcement caught John by surprise in the best possible way. “Felt incredible,” he reflects. “Very fulfilling knowing that my work is not going unnoticed. I haven’t won many awards in my lifetime, so to have everyone clapping for you felt great.”
As an Assembly Tech with 2 years at Bazooka Farmstar, John’s journey began when Blockbuster was acquired, which led to conversations about a full-time opportunity here. What started as a transition has become something much more meaningful. “Everything,” John says when asked what keeps him here. “The people, the product lines, and just really like it here.”
John credits his recognition to being adaptable, especially when working with new products and helping take offerings to the next level. But he also points to something deeper: “Being respectful and understanding how my job impacts others.”

For anyone aspiring to similar recognition, John’s advice is refreshingly straightforward: “Show up for your work, stay busy, and apply yourself to the job. Don’t get complacent and always strive for the next goal and to improve.”

Beyond the Shop Floor
When he’s not bringing his positive energy to the production floor, John enjoys spending time outdoors with his child—exploring river trails, nature paths, and local parks. This love of the outdoors extends to his four-legged family members, too. For his award, John selected All God’s Creatures as his nonprofit of choice. Their mission is to connect the hands and paws of Henry County to build happier, healthier community for all. John said, “They save animals in need. I have a dog and love dogs, and knowing that they help the lives of pets is important to me.”
